Forum Guidelines

This online community was formed for the purpose of providing an intimate, peaceful forum for Morgellons sufferers and their families and friends.  Let's work together to keep this forum a positive, supportive place.  When you start topics and reply to posts, please be respectful of the following rules:

1. Offensive Material

Our goal is for people to learn and get help in a friendly environment. This means no swearing, or inappropriate words. Do not link to any sites that anyone would find offensive.
Do not post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, or sexually-oriented material.  Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned.
Please refrain from posting wild theories regarding Morgellons Disease that can cause fear and confusion.  Stick to the facts.  MSF aims to provide sound education and information that aids in healing.  Please remember these guidelines when posting topics or replying to members.
Any material that is deemed inappropriate will be deleted and/or the poster will earn a warning.  Keep in mind this is a family site.

2. Flaming and Harassment

There is a zero tolerance for flaming or any rude and childish behavior on this forum. All members are expected to act civilly at all times.  Personal disputes on the boards will be deleted.  Please take personal disputes to private email.

3. Advice

Please do not give intentionally bad or malicious advice to any user. All must keep in mind that this forum has people of all levels of experience, and everybody must be able to count on the quality of advice given on these forums.  Do not try to diagnose anyone.

4.  Posting Etiquette

New topics are to be posted within the appropriate forums.  Topics incorrectly placed will be moved.
Refrain from using all CAPS in your posts.
No cross posting; posting the same message on multiple boards is not allowed.
Use paragraphs for lengthy messages.  It is very difficult to follow or read long messages without paragraphs.
Members' personal information such as phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, and real identities is to remain confidential and not included in any posts.
Posting copyright material is strictly prohibited.  Use links to articles instead.

5. No Advertising / SPAM

Businesses are not allowed to post advertisements of any form in these forums. Members are not allowed to make posts with the sole purpose of advertising their own or another website.  We have a Friday's Ad board.  Ads posted on that board will be reviewed and either accepted or rejected based on their content and validity. Any form of SPAM will be deleted and the user account banned and/or deleted.  Anyone soliciting members through private email is strictly prohibited.  Friday's Ad board has been removed.

6. Treatment of Moderators

Any form of moderator harassment including insults, doing the opposite of something you were asked to do, reposting a thread that was deleted, or protesting a ban will result in a ban. Our moderator team follow the rules and their intentions will not be questioned. If you should do so you will be banned without question. If you don't like it here, feel free to leave. The mods are here to do a job. We will not argue or debate moderator action or policy in public.

7. Zero Tolerance on Piracy (Based on the phpBB Forum TOS)

NO WAREZ. NO SERIALS. NO CRACKS / CRACKING / ILLEGAL PROGRAMS. Anything that can be used in software piracy or other illegal software activities will result in a ban. Same goes for abusive programs like mail bombers, forum and usenet flooders and email harvesting bots. This also includes unreleased products. Workarounds which compromise security, bypass password protection, or otherwise go to gain unauthorized access to private data or information is prohibited. Basically, if it is illegal or immoral it doesn't belong in our forums.

8. Signatures

Please keep your signatures clean and of reasonable size. Any signature which contains anything potentially offensive or which detracts from the quality of the forum will be edited by the moderating staff. We will make all effort to notify you via PM if we edit your signature. Sole decision on whether a signature is acceptable lies with the moderator staff.

9. Account usage

You are responsible for the usage of your account. It is your responsibility to protect your password.

Conclusion:

If you do not agree to these rules, you're free to no longer visit the Morgellons Sanctum Forum and to request your account with us be deleted. Remember: these are private forums and, by signing up, you agree to abide by these rules. We reserve the right to ban any user on our forums. That said, the entire point of these rules is to help provide a friendly, informative atmosphere for all members. We're not here to be drill sergeants or get off on an ego trip. Our mods have one job and that is to keep the peace and allow people the freedom to safely seek help and discuss Morgellons and Lyme Disease.
